Prayer is communication with God. It is vitally important to be fully saturated in a lifestyle of prayer. It must become intrinsic to our way of life, if we want to truly live according to the Word of God. Prayer isn't just something we do; rather, it is a main part of who we are in Christ. It is our prime directive - our first response; not our last resort.
We must not only speak our prayers audibly that we may think, speak, and hear our own words to build our own faith and the faith of others, but we must also learn how to shut our mouths and listen. Communication is a two-way street. We must ensure that we don't over compensate our prayer life, for the lack of spiritual direction, otherwise we will not hear God when He speaks.
Our relationship with God is not contingent on our circumstances, situations, emotions, nor feelings; rather, by the Word of God. Prayer should be led of the Spirit, not empty, repetitious words.
