The gifts of the Spirit are still in operation today. There are many gifts, yet all come from the same and only Spirit of God. The Bible teaches us not to be ignorant of these gifts, nor to forsake any of them. It is not an opinion, nor optional. Scripture dictates when one rejects the gifts, they also reject the Gift-Giver.
Every believer is called - by God - to operate in one or more of these gifts, for the edification and perfecting of the saints, and for the work of the ministry as an act of obedience to Christ Jesus. These nine gifts of the Spirit include:
Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Faith, Healing, Miracles, Prophecy, Discerning of Spirits, Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues
These gifts are not for ourselves and selfish to reject their operation. To receive the Spirit (become born-again), and not allow the Spirit to operate freely in one's life will lose the Spirit (blasphemy of the Spirit) and have not Christ. These gifts empower every true believer for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
Every gift is designed to bring glory to God, not ourselves. If at any point we become the focal point - with our talents or abilities - it is because we have pridefully and arrogantly retained the praise we were meant to give to Jesus, marking oneself a false teacher or false profit.
